Who we are
At Nitsch Consulting, we know every family, organization, and community is different. The systems that keep people safe and help things run well should be built to fit their needs. We provide clear guidance and practical support to address intimate partner violence and promote strong, mission-focused leadership. Our main services include training and meeting facilitation, operations support and strategy, and expert witness testimony.
The company is led by Lisa Nitsch, who has nearly 30 years of nationally recognized experience in the nonprofit field focused on intimate partner violence. She helps connect day-to-day mission work with strong, stable operations.
We are committed to long-term success and clear results. Nitsch Consulting is a strong partner for federal agencies, nonprofit staff and boards, mission-driven companies, and legal professionals who need a leader who can create change, show impact, and support success.
All of our work is guided by a strong commitment to community empowerment, equity, safety, and the joy necessary to support sustained advocacy and system change.
Her training and technical assistance work is equally distinguished. Lisa has partnered with Futures Without Violence, the Battered Women's Justice Project, National Fatherhood Initiative, the Women of Color Network, the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community, the Center for Justice Innovation, the National District Attorneys Association, and the National Football League. She has advised the White House across multiple administrations, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women, and the Department of Health & Human Services' Administration for Children & Families.
Among her many honors, Lisa takes particular pride in being recognized as a field leader in Ed Gondolf's 2015 book Gender-Based Perspectives on Batterer Programs; receiving a 2013 award from the Center for Urban Families for her dedication to Baltimore City's most vulnerable residents; and a Special Day of Honor designated by Mayor Nagin in 2007 for her work supporting New Orleans’ fathers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Lisa is best known for her pioneering work in designing intervention services for abusive partners and building professional capacity within nonprofit organizations. Grounded in nearly thirty years of direct service and executive leadership, she brings authenticity, humor, strategic thinking, and an unwavering commitment to equity to every collaboration, whether with grassroots community groups or the highest levels of federal government.
